WTF? Hot Pants?

Take Control Of Your Holiday Displays With Griswold

“Wouldn’t it be cool if you could control your
Christmas lights from your iPhone?” That simple
question, posed in passing eleven days ago by a
good friend, set off a flurry of activity which has
become Griswold.app (for the iPhone/iPod touch)
and Griswold Server (for OS X Leopard, Windows
and Linux/BSD). Both are being released here
with full source to each and you may just be able
to download it from the App Store by the end of the
week as well.

If you are one to deck the halls…and the family room…and the kitchen…and the roof then you know how difficult it can be controlling all those displays. Timers are somewhat effective, but are always out of sync with each other. Simple RF remotes provide better control but must be in range or have line-of-sight to work. It really would be cool to be able to control these creations from an iPhone!

Got Spam? Blame Canada!

Getting any spam recently? Well, at least now we have someone to point fingers at. Canada!

A report published by Cisco on Monday shows that over 9 billion spam messages are sent from the Great White North every day, accounting for 4.7% of the world's spam.

Canada only came in fourth place in the report however, with the US accounting for 17.9%, Turkey for 9.2% and Russia for 8%. But on a per-capita basis, Canada is numero uno, eh!

It's been a while.... But it was worth it!

So we all have been pretty busy and as a result, no blogging. With the challenges of everyday life and the economy on the skids. We have something to hang our hat on! We are excited to tell the world that we are officially in a RETAIL business! Clackamas Town Center to be exact right near Sears on the bottom floor. The store is called ACME Gifts, filled with humorous and eclectic finds. A great store to check out for the Holidays. Big thanks to Eileen Sheridan for giving a small local Portland company a chance. Also Big thanks to Ben Fraticelli (neb) for all the updates and the willingness to help us when ever possible. Anyway, check it out! we will be there through the holidays so come stop by and be a patron to a local business... Thanks Team WrecktAngle

Sick!

I hate feeling and getting sick... I have to wonder why there is a "cold and flu" season. Is this brought upon us? Or is it a slow spiraling event that happens when the seasons change. The days getting shorter and colder it seems depression sets in easily.

Ed Shultz in Portland!!!

Ed's "Straight Talk from the Heartland" makes him a 21st Century Teddy Roosevelt who believes the salvation of the American people lies in their voices, not in the parties. He represents the thousands of Americans whose collective beliefs are the foundation of the United States.
Big Ed has won Marconi, Peabody and The Eric Sevareid Awards. All this from a former conservative who became a liberal ( but not a wacko liberal ) because I basically got out in the world

Ed Schultz has delivered 20 shares on KFGO/Fargo for the past 15 years. He considers himself a gun-toting, meat-eating lefty.

Anyway... We were there Last Friday, It rocked!
I highly recommend tuning in to his show, he is truly a visionary when it comes to the future of our country. We even had an opertunity to meet in after
the show. We were have
cocked and it was pretty
sweet non the less.

Apology from Acme Coffee & Gifts

I was hoping to make a new announcement about a new location where WrecktAngle apparel would be displayed but unfortunately it seems the Acme Coffee & Gifts dream is over.

I moved to Oregon in 2005 with the purpose of helping my mom open urban-humor retail store. The idea was to create something fresh, unlike what was in the current marketplace. Our temporary location in Washington Square was a big hit, so we had high hopes of continuing the success outside the mall setting.

It seemed only natural to mix good humored gifts with highly caffeinated drinks, so my mom decided to open a hybrid coffee/gift shop in the fall of 2006. Like some sort of nervous uncle, I watched the birth and subsequent growth of the store. The store made my mother proud and I was happy that she had her own creative outlet which seemed destine for success.

But like so many small businesses, the stress & financial burden has become to much for my mother and step-father so Acme will closing probably next week. We hope that someone will by the store and continue the tradition. The store has really turned around into something profitable but its too little too late for my mother.

Blah - I didn't mean to turn this into a eulogy, but I just wanted to apologize to the WrecktAngle community because we had very high hopes of nice little union between the two companies.

Adios
